Why did you decide to find a coach?

I had spoken to Alex prior to being made redundant from my previous role. I had originally discussed my overall desire to seek better alignment in my career, but the redundancy gave me the catalyst I needed to start the work.

What were you feeling about your work and about yourself that you wanted to change?

I didn’t feel that the career trajectory was taking me in the direction I wanted and after 20 odd years I felt I needed help in figuring out what I should do next.

How easy/hard did you find doing ‘the process’, what was your favourite part and what did you learn about yourself?

The process was an expertly guided and very personal and in-depth discovery of self, that whilst at times was a little confronting, was nonetheless incredibly insightful. I have done many profiling exercises in my life and even had odd executive coaching, but none which lay bare the very essence of who I am, and most importantly the core needs which drive everything else.

This was perhaps the most empowering and illuminating part for me and what finally made me realise why certain aspects of my career hadn’t been working for me up until that point.

How has coaching changed your levels of clarity and confidence about your career?

Coaching has helped me know what needs I need to serve and how those needs and values can be met and aligned in work. This knowledge is incredibly valuable as it provides clearer decision making..

How has coaching changed the way you feel about your capabilities and about yourself?

I am so much clearer on my strengths and shadows than I have ever been before and for the first time an understanding that leaning into those shadows and not away from them will ultimately help me develop as a person into the future..

What would you say to anyone who is considering coaching with Alex but not sure if they should do it?

Do it. No hesitation. If you feel in any way lost as I was, then this is a great process in providing clarity and direction and with it hopefully more career fulfilment..
