Why did you decide to find a career coach? - What were you feeling about your work/job/career, and about yourself, that you wanted to change?
I was at a crossroads having just left an extremely difficult workplace. I was feeling confused about my career pathway, hoping to gain clarity on how I get there, and what to watch out for next. My ex-colleague and best friend referred me to Alex with rave reviews. I could see from the sidelines that he was making an impact for her, through a clearer direction and greater self-confidence in a short space of time.
How easy/hard did you find the career coaching course, what was your favourite part and what did you learn about yourself?
The process was straightforward and quick, with each step building on the last. I thought I knew myself well, however this process proved me wrong! How fascinating to deeply learn about yourself. Your reality map, your driving needs and how you fulfil them, your values, fears, and personality traits.
I understand myself far better, as do those around me, and I can navigate with greater confidence. But you need to be ready to do it and be prepared to see with 20/20 vision.
How has working with a career coach changed your levels of clarity and confidence about your career?
I am more accepting of who I am and I find decisions far easier to make. I can let go of things that aren’t right for me, understand others’ actions much better, and use techniques to manage situations optimally.
How has working with a career coach changed your self-confidence and self-esteem?
Stepping out of the daily noise, and taking a good hard look in the mirror, helped to remind me of the facts and to see some things for what they really are. I am highly skilled, with loads of strengths, and a lot of value to add.
What would you say to anyone who is considering working with Alex as their career coach but not sure if they should do it?
This is an investment in you and it will pay back tenfold both personally and professionally. You will feel better about yourself, your decisions, and your confidence will return. Alex learns all about you in the process, so he’s well position to support you and your needs, whatever direction that goes.
